Demo
Carpet, tile, glue-down wood and vinyl all come out differently. Tile and thinset removal is the dustiest part of the job; we contain the work area and haul debris off site.
Concrete slabs
After demo we check the slab for flatness, cracks and moisture. High spots are ground, low spots are filled with self-leveling underlayment, and cracks are addressed before the new floor goes down.
Wood subfloors
On pier-and-beam homes we look for loose or damaged subfloor, squeaks and soft spots, and re-fasten or replace sections as needed. Structural issues beneath the subfloor are noted and priced separately so you can decide.

Questions about removal & subfloor prep
Why is prep a separate line item?
Because it varies widely from one floor to the next. Listing it separately shows you exactly what your floor needs instead of burying it in a square-foot price.
Can you just do demo and prep?
Yes, for owners or contractors who need a floor removed and prepared for another installer.
