Stair treads and stair conversions in Austin.
Carpeted stairs are often the last thing left after a new floor goes in. We convert them to wood treads and risers that match.
Carpet to wood
Converting carpeted stairs means removing the carpet and pad, cutting back the bullnose, and installing new treads and risers over the existing stair structure. Every stair is measured individually because older stairs are rarely uniform.
Matching the floor
Treads can be finished to match a new hardwood floor or matched to LVP with manufactured nosing. Painted risers are a common, clean contrast.
Railings
If balusters or handrails need to be replaced or refinished as part of the stair update, we can include that in the scope or note it as an option.

Questions about stairs
Can you do the stairs without redoing the floors?
Yes. Stairs can be done on their own, though matching an existing floor color takes careful sampling.
Is LVP an option for stairs?
Yes, using the matching stair nosing for that product. Solid wood treads are more durable on heavy-use stairs.
